Ohana Experiences is a social experience platform that connects locals in Thailand with visitors and travelers from around the world. We celebrate cultural exchange, authentic connection, and meaningful local experiences. To foster a safe, respectful, and vibrant community, we've outlined a set of core guidelines and frequently asked questions below.
We expect all community members — hosts and guests — to follow these foundational principles:
Treat others with courtesy and dignity. Discrimination, harassment, hate speech, or abusive conduct is not tolerated.
Hosts should offer genuine, well-intentioned experiences. Guests should participate with openness and respect for local customs and environments.
Provide accurate descriptions, expectations, and boundaries. Misleading information harms trust.
Respect privacy, personal space, and data of others. Do not share personal information publicly without consent.
Hosts and guests are individually responsible for compliance with local regulations and cultural norms (e.g., permits, certifications that may be required).
Hosts should clearly describe:
Be welcoming without imposing beliefs, political views, or pressure for personal participation.
Hosts should ensure that activities are conducted in a safe and ethical manner. Encourage guests to communicate needs or concerns.
Respond to inquiries respectfully and in a timely manner. Set expectations for how and when guests can contact you.
Treat hosts, local communities, and their spaces with cultural awareness and appreciation.
Participate in experiences conscientiously — following safety instructions, schedules, and boundaries set by hosts.
If issues arise, communicate honestly and respectfully with the host and with Ohana support if needed.
Illegal behavior, harassment, theft, or disrespect of property is prohibited.
A hosted experience is an activity led by a local host that brings visitors together for cultural exchange, shared interests, or learning — such as food tastings, art workshops, or neighborhood visits. It should be welcoming, transparent, and safe.
Yes, many hosted experiences involve visiting several locations. However, hosts should clearly frame these as social, hosted outings rather than formal guided tours. Experiences that resemble traditional tour guiding may be subject to local regulations. Always check applicable regulations in your area.
Ohana does not provide legal advice. Requirements vary by country or city. Some jurisdictions regulate tourism activities — for example, formal guided tours might require a license in certain regions. Hosts are responsible for understanding and complying with local laws.
